This is the amount of income identified as part of an Adult Charging Financial Assessment which the person has available to contribute to their care with, once their living costs and disability related expenses have been deducted. It represents the maximum amount that they could be charged per week. People are charged against 90% of their personal budget so for example if someone’s budget is £100 per week, £90 would be chargeable. If their NAI was £35 a week that is what they would pay. If their NAI was £95 per week they would pay £90 per week.
